We are seeking a Building Services Supervisor (BSS) to lead the day-to-day supervision of the Engineering Day and Shift Teams.​

The BSS will ensure the successful completion of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across mechanical, electrical building services and building fabric.​

This role is critical in ensuring maximum uptime and that client operations are consistently supported.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced engineering supervisor who will champion health and safety, lead engineering teams on site, and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and the wider ISS community.​

Reporting into the Technical Services Manager (TSM) and Site Lead, the Building Services Supervisor will play a key role in service delivery, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise, oversee and carry out PPM, reactive maintenance and emergency works in line with contract requirements

Act as the day-to-day lead for both Shift Engineers and Day Engineers, reporting into the TSM and Site Lead

Ensure all planned and reactive tasks are completed efficiently and to the required standards

Manage subcontractors as required, including overseeing specialist works and Safe Systems of Work (SSoWs)

Support and adhere to ISS SSOW, HASAWA and all relevant health and safety legislation, championing a zero-accident culture

Complete and maintain all required documentation, records and quality assurance procedures

Deliver toolbox talks, audit engineering works and ensure compliance with ISS and client governance standards

Support UK & Campus Engineering Leadership with improvements to SOPs, EOPs and technical solutions, including limited project support

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Proven leadership experience within engineering operations

Electrical and/or Mechanical qualifications
Suitably qualified in an engineering discipline

Strong experience in engineering operations within critical environments

Previous experience supervising engineering teams in an FM, banking or property-related environment

Proactive approach with strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Sound knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices

NEBOSH or IOSH certification (desirable/required as per contract)

Willingness to undertake AP (Authorised Person) training

Full UK driving licence
