Engineering team in Nottingham!

Role Details:
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 8:30am – 5pm
Role Type: Permanent, Full Time Role
Location: Nottingham, NG2
Salary: £50,000
Reporting into the sites Engineering Manager, the Facilities & Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the site
infrastructure, utilities, and services operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with UK food manufacturing
regulations. The role combines facilities management with regulatory, food safety, and environmental compliance, supporting
operational excellence and audit readiness.
Your Duties Will Include:
* Lead maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of site facilities, utilities, and infrastructure.
* Manage PPM systems to minimise production disruption and ensure reliability of critical services (HVAC, refrigeration, water,
compressed air).
* Oversee contractors and service providers, ensuring contracts, performance, safety, and compliance standards are met.
* Deliver CapEx projects for site upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and environmental regulations; maintain audit readiness and manage
regulatory relationships.
* Control documentation, permits, certifications, and compliance records.
* Promote a strong safety culture, manage contractor safety, and lead incident investigations with corrective actions.
* Oversee environmental compliance, including waste, water, and energy management.
* Lead and develop the facilities and compliance team, collaborating cross-functionally and with external partners.
* Manage departmental budgets and drive continuous improvement aligned with operational goals.
About You:
Essential:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management, Food Safety, or a related discipline.
* Professional certifications (e.g., C+G, NEBOSH, IOSH, CMI/ILM).
* Experience managing audits (Legal compliance(LOLER/PUWER), customer, environmental, health and safety inspections).
* Experience with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001).
* Experience in health & safety management within an industrial or manufacturing setting
* Demonstrated experience managing contractors, maintenance systems, and site services.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with energy management and sustainability initiatives.
* Proven experience in a facilities, compliance, or engineering management role within a food manufacturing environment.
* Strong working knowledge of BRCGS standards, HACCP principles, and UK regulatory requirements.
* Experience managing critical safety issues such as DSEAR and asbestos
