Summary

Starting in June 2026, a wonderful part time nanny position for 30 hours per week has become available in Aspley Guise, Bedfordshire. The family is extremely friendly, both parents are professionals with demanding jobs that require a reliable nanny. They share a love of travel, ancient history, and fitness. They have two Dachshund dogs who are part of the family. They have a daily dog walker, but a dog lover is required.

The family is looking for a warm, nurturing, attentive, responsible and fun nanny with good interpersonal and communication skills to be part of the family (e.g. the family are still regularly in touch with their previous nanny). You will be an organised and proactive team player, who likes to plan ahead.

You will be caring for one delightful little girl who is nearly 2½ years old. She is a happy, sweet, curious and active child. She is due to start going to nursery from July on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays but hours of attendance are flexible (likely to be 9am-3pm). Sole charge care will primarily be with her. Mum is currently pregnant with the baby due in October 2026. Mum will be on maternity leave for a period (up to 12 months) with the baby. However, this is not a shared care role. There is a separate area of the home where mum will be with the baby while the little girl is at home. When the little girl is at nursery, any care of the baby by the nanny will be on a sole charge basis. Experience with newborns would therefore be advantageous. While Mum is on maternity leave, the nanny will only have sole charge of one child at a time.

The hours of work will be at least Tuesday and Thursday, 08:00–18:00. There will be an additional ten contracted hours across the week, days and times to be mutually agreed, making a total of 30 hours for the week. Some flexibility may be required due to work commitments (e.g. early meetings), but any changes will be agreed with as much notice as possible. Any additional hours required will be mutually agreed and paid as overtime.

The parents are keen for their children to learn and develop in a balanced way, supporting their developmental milestones with a mix of educational and stimulating indoor activities (reading, sensory play, singing and dancing, age-appropriate games, etc.) and plenty of active outdoor play in the garden and trips to the park and farm. The child is screen free.

They would like you to attend local toddler groups and activities to encourage exposure to other children and promote development and interests, while ensuring the children are always happy and safe. The little girl currently attends music class, forest school, baby ballet etc. The family also have passes to Woburn Safari Park and Play 360.

You must be a confident and careful driver with a clean licence. A car will be provided for use during working hours.

The family employs a weekly cleaner, so the role will focus on nursery duties. Some light help to keep the household running smoothly would be appreciated (e.g. ensuring rooms used are tidy at the end of the day).

Nursery duties to include:
• General care of the children
• Keeping their areas clean, tidy and organised (kitchen, bedroom, playroom, etc.)
• Making up / sterilizing bottles
• Children’s laundry
• Preparing healthy and nutritious meals for the children, using fresh ingredients. Creating meal plans and batch cooking for the children. Knowledge of weaning is essential.

While holiday travel is not mandatory, there is the possibility of holiday travel overseas and in the UK with the family if the nanny desires.
