Teaching Personnel are recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to work full-time in primary schools across Newport.
We are looking for individuals who have either formal TA qualifications or hands-on experience supporting children, particularly those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN/SEN).
This role is ideal for candidates who are confident in the classroom and can make an immediate impact, whether their experience comes from schools, care settings, youth work or similar environments.
About the Role
• Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Provide 1:1 and small group support
• Support pupils with ALN/SEN, including Autism, ADHD and behavioural needs
• Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
• Help manage behaviour and maintain a structured learning environment
• Work proactively as part of a wider school team
The Ideal Candidate
• Experience working with children in any setting (school, care, youth work, support roles)
• OR a Level 2 / Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Experience supporting pupils with ALN/SEN or behavioural needs is highly desirable
• Confident managing classroom expectations and routines
• Proactive with a strong "get up and go" attitude
• Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Calm, patient and resilient
Requirements
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
• EWC Registration
• Two recent references
