Summary

KS1 SEND Teacher - Permanent, full time from September 2026
This KS1 SEND Teacher role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and structured setting, delivering high-quality teaching to pupils with additional needs in Key Stage 1. The role is well suited to a KS1 SEND Teacher or an experienced mainstream KS1 teacher with a strong background in supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH. Teaching focuses on creating a calm, predictable environment where pupils can build confidence, engagement, and early learning foundations.Duties as KS1 SEND Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging KS1 lessons adapted to meet a range of additional learning needs
- Support pupils with SEND and SEMH through structured, nurturing teaching approaches
- Differentiate lessons to support early literacy, numeracy, and personal development
- Create a calm, consistent, and supportive classroom environment
- Use positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies effectively
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting teaching to individual needs
- Work closely with support staff and wider teams to deliver inclusive practice
- Build strong relationships with pupils to support confidence and engagement
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times

Ideal KS1 SEND Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1
- Strong background in supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH needs
- Mainstream KS1 teachers with strong SEND experience are encouraged to apply
- Calm, patient, and resilient teaching approach
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
