We are looking for a 2nd Cook/ Chef to join our clients dedicated catering team in their residential Care Home in Coatbridge. Working 40 hours over a 5 day rota between 7am and 7pm. Offering the successful candidate great job satisfaction and home at a reasonable time of day... now that’s a great work life balance combination!
The Role:
As a Cook/ Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious, nutritious meals that cater to the diverse needs of the residents. You will work closely with the team to develop menus that meet and adhere to dietary requirements and preferences. Your creativity and culinary skills will be recognised as you prepare and present meals that satisfy residents.
The overall mission within the Care Home is to provide exceptional care, and we believe that great food plays a vital role in enhancing the well-being of those we serve.
We are looking for someone who is not only adept in the kitchen but also has a genuine passion for providing excellent service. You should have a good understanding of food safety regulations and be committed to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Experience in a similar role, particularly within a care setting, is highly desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing, planning and cooking meals to a consistently high standard, taking account of any special requests or dietary requirements within the homes.
Managing kitchen inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Supervising kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Maintaining good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established procedures.
Adhering to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications, Skill & Experience:
City & Guilds (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking
Basic Food Hygiene (essential)
Intermediate Food hygiene (desirable)
Previous experience working as a Cook/ Chef (essential
Previous experience in a similar environment (desirable)
Menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control and budget (desirable)
