Do you have experience of working with complex children and families?

Are you passionate about making a difference in young lives?

Join our dedicated Youth Offending Team, where you'll work directly with children aged 10 –17 who are involved in the criminal justice system.

The Role:
We’re looking for someone to support young people who are facing complex challenges and have become involved in the criminal justice system. You’ll manage a caseload and work directly with individuals and their families to encourage positive change - reducing reoffending, improving relationships, boosting school attendance, and empowering parents.

Collaboration is key in this role. You’ll work closely with partner agencies to secure the best possible outcomes, helping each young person move forward, reintegrate into their community, and build a more hopeful future.

What you’ll do:
As a Youth Justice Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting young people and their families through meaningful, hands-on work. Your responsibilities will include:

- Working directly with children and young people (and their families) who are subject to court orders or Out of Court Disposals.
- Delivering tailored intervention programmes in both one-to-one and group settings.
- Contributing to the preparation of risk assessments and professional reports.
- Acting as the duty Court Officer when required.
- Providing cover for colleagues during periods of absence.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on Capita One YJ and ICS, including assessments, plans, interventions, reviews, and court outcomes.
- Gathering feedback from young people and their families to inform service improvement.
- Preparing detailed case reports as needed.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and partnership events to support collaborative working.
- Attending Saturday court on a rota basis.

We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can work inclusively and respectfully with diverse individuals and families.
- Is confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Can write clear, structured reports and present information effectively.
- Has experience working with children, young people, and families—especially those with complex needs.
- Can collaborate well with other professionals and agencies.

Why join us?
We offer a flexible, motivating and inclusive workplace, where talent is truly recognised and developed. We have created an environment that you can look forward to being a part of and where you are empowered to be your best and believe in creating a workplace built on teamwork where people can grow and develop in their roles.
