Summary

Social Worker – Child Protection & Court Work

Are you an experienced Social Worker with a strong background in Child Protection and Court Work?

We are currently recruiting for a skilled and resilient Social Worker to join a statutory Children’s Social Care team, working with children and families where safeguarding is a priority.

This is a key role focused on protecting children at risk of significant harm, working within Section 47, Child Protection and PLO processes, with potential involvement in court proceedings.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a caseload of children and families, ensuring that risks are identified, assessed and managed effectively, while always keeping the child’s voice at the centre of your work.

Your day-to-day will include:
• Undertaking assessments of risk and need
• Managing Child Protection cases and S47 enquiries
• Working within PLO processes and preparing for court proceedings
• Building strong, effective relationships with children and families
• Delivering interventions that support positive and sustainable outcomes
• Maintaining accurate and timely case records
• Working to deadlines within a fast-paced environment
• Attending court and providing evidence when required

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Social Worker (Degree or equivalent)
• Registered with the relevant professional body (e.g. Social Work England)
• Proven experience within Child Protection and Court Work
• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and frameworks
• Experience working with complex and high-risk cases
• Confident in assessments, care planning and report writing
• Ability to manage challenging situations with professionalism and resilience
• Valid, up-to-date DBS (or willing to obtain one)
