Summary
Fire Risk Assessor
Peabody is recruiting a Fire Risk Assessor to join our Fire Safety Team and play a vital role in keeping our residents, visitors and buildings safe. This is a key position supporting the delivery of a high‑quality fire risk assessment programme and wider fire safety compliance across our residential portfolio.
You’ll carry out fire risk assessments across nominated properties, producing clear, timely and pragmatic FRA reports that enable effective action planning. Working independently for much of the time, you’ll also collaborate closely with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders to ensure fire risks are clearly identified, recorded and managed. You’ll contribute to strengthening our fire safety culture, supporting continuous improvement and ensuring residents feel informed, supported and safe in their homes.
The role involves completing and reviewing fire risk assessments, maintaining accurate records using fire safety systems, prioritising workloads, and liaising with operational teams to resolve fire safety issues efficiently. You’ll provide clear, proportionate fire safety advice to technical and non‑technical audiences, support quality assurance activity, and share learning and best practice across the team.
Full support is provided for learning and development, including working towards professional membership (ideally with the Institute of Fire Engineers), third‑party accreditation and inclusion on the National Fire Risk Assessors Register, where desired.
We’re looking for an experienced and competent Fire Risk Assessor with proven experience of conducting fire risk assessments in residential premises. You’ll be confident managing competing priorities, working independently, and delivering high‑quality work to agreed timescales, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
You’ll hold a NEBOSH Fire Safety qualification (or equivalent) and be operating at a minimum of Tier 2 Fire Risk Assessor level, with evidence of appropriate training, experience and/or third‑party certification. Membership of a professional body such as the IFE, or a clear commitment to working towards this, is important. A driving licence is useful but not essential, as public transport will typically be used.
When you join Peabody, you’ll be part of an organisation guided by strong values and committed to inclusion, development and doing the right thing. We offer 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, two paid volunteering days each year, a flexible benefits scheme including family‑friendly benefits and discounts, life assurance of four times salary, and a pension contribution of up to 10%.
This role requires the ability to work two days per week from your local office and be visible within your regional area. Please note that we do not offer visa sponsorship.
To apply, please submit an anonymised CV along with a short statement explaining why you’re a strong fit for the role. Interviews are expected to take place during the week commencing 25 May 2026. We reserve the right to close the advert early if sufficient applications are received.
