Summary
Applications are invited for a Trust Doctor (eqv to ST1-2) in Renal Medicine and Transplantation.
The post will suit applicants who wish to gain experience inRenalMedicine.
In this position the appointee will be exposed to all aspects renal medicine, including renal replacement therapy (haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, renal transplantation), acute kidney injury and various sub-specialities within the field of nephrology.
There is an extensive teaching programme in place for all junior doctors:
Ø Monday lunchtime – SHO teaching programme delivered by SpRs
Ø Tuesday am – SpR teaching programme delivered by a consultant (aimed towards the higher specialty curriculum, but interested SHOs are welcome to and encouraged to attend)
Ø Wednesday am – SHO teaching programme delivered by a consultant
Ø Thursday pm – unit academic half day with histopathology and radiology MDTs, regular unit M+Ms, invited outside speakers
Ø Friday am – Hot cases (departmental teaching through challenging ward cases)
Ø Friday lunchtime – Journal club
