Summary
We are seeking an advanced paediatric audiologist to join our Bart’s Paediatric Audiology multi-disciplinary teams at Waltham Forest and Redbridge. The services are based at Wood St Health Care Centre and Loxford Polyclinic. Predominantly a clinical role, this will keep you busy with a full range of paediatric assessment and (re) habilitation challenges, together with some delegated service development and/or management responsibilities.
This interesting specialist role will involve working with babies, children and families in our spacious, family-friendly multi-disciplinary centres and taking on the responsibilities of this role within the dynamic working environment at Bart’s will enable clinical and personal development.
You should be able to provide evidence working in a patient-centred way, and value supporting children and families through the wider patient journey. You will be confident working with children, both autonomously and as a flexible team-member. ABR experience is not essential but is desirable. You must have a minimum of a BSc in Audiology. You should be registered with AHCS, or be registered/close to registration as a clinical scientist with HCPC.
The post holders will be expected to work closely with the 3 established advanced clinicians as well as the wider clinical/non-clinical team to support the development of the service.
· To perform specialist diagnostic audiological procedures, and provide a comprehensive specialist hearing aid service to children, including determining care plans for individual patients, and involving carers and families as appropriate.
· To assist with the day-to-day management of the joint Waltham Forest and Redbridge Paediatric service.
· To take an active role in areas of clinical audit, research and clinical governance for the Audiology service, which may include designing and completing audits within own field, participating in data collection for larger projects, and contributing to the development of evidence based protocols.
· To plan and prioritise elements of own workload, within the framework of service delivery priorities as defined by the Clinical Lead and Head of Service, and supervise the work of other members of the team as appropriate, including junior audiologists, trainees and students.
