About the role
As a Trainee WinCan Data Technician, you will support the processing and analysis of drainage inspection data using WinCan and related software. You will assist senior processors and engineers by ensuring accurate data capture, validation and reporting to help assess and maintain drainage infrastructure.
This role sits within Ipsum Survey Solutions Limited (Trenchless) and reports to the Operations Manager.
Key responsibilities include
Administration
Receiving and processing inspection data from site teams
Working closely with operational teams across the business
Data entry and updates using Excel, Access and related software applications
Technical Analysis
Producing drainage reports in WinCan format
Managing data systems including recording, processing and archiving
Analysing data to resolve or report anomalies
Updating inspection information using CCTV survey software
Using GIS applications as required
Following client specifications and reporting standards
Updating confidential commercial information
Reviewing CCTV footage to assess the quality of inspections and repairs
Planning and Preparation Support
Assisting with the production of plans using specialist software
Producing work schedules to support site activities
About you
We’re looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills and an interest in drainage and data processing.
Qualifications
Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (desirable)
Knowledge and Experience
Basic understanding of the drainage industry
Understanding of data entry techniques and reporting standards
Skills and Personal Qualities
Good written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Professional and personable telephone manner with strong customer service skills
Ability to use GIS applications such as MapInfo or Infonet
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Proactive, can-do attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to undertake a range of duties as required
