Summary
Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant
Location: Worthing, West Sussex
Pay: £92.56 - £95.00 per day
Contract: Full-Time / Term-Time
The SchoolAre you passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of children with complex learning needs? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Worthing.
We cater to pupils aged 4-11 with a wide range of complex needs. We move away from traditional year-group structures, instead placing our students in groups tailored specifically to their individual learning requirements and developmental stages. This ensures every child receives the bespoke support they deserve.
The RoleAs an SEN TA, you won't just be sitting at a desk. You will be an active participant in a child's developmental journey. You will work closely with Class Teachers and Therapists to deliver a curriculum that is sensory, engaging, and highly physical.
World-Class FacilitiesWe believe that learning happens everywhere-not just in a classroom. Our staff and pupils have access to an incredible suite of specialist resources, including:
-
Hydrotherapy Pool & Rebound Therapy (Trampoline-based therapy)
-
Forest School for outdoor exploration
-
Sensory & Dark Rooms for regulation and stimulation
-
Immersive Room for interactive digital learning
-
Climbing Wall & Soft Play to develop motor skills and confidence
-
The "Can-Do" Attitude: You should be energetic, patient, and unfazed by challenges.
-
Adaptability: One moment you might be in the hydrotherapy pool, the next you could be in the Forest School. You need to be happy to "muck in."
-
Empathy: A deep understanding of (or a desire to learn about) complex learning needs, non-verbal communication, and sensory processing.
-
Reliability: Our pupils thrive on consistency; we need someone who is committed to being a stable figure in their daily lives.
-
Experience working with children.
-
Ability to assist with personal care (toileting/feeding) where required.
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
If you are ready to swap the mundane for the extraordinary and work in an environment where every "small" win is a massive celebration, we want to hear from you!
