Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of children and young people? An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as part of our highly experienced team in the Refuge. The post includes working with the whole family but with a key focus on children and young people (0-18).

Purpose of the role:
The role is based at Lewis House, a dedicated Refuge with 22 self-contained flats and outstanding OFSTED rated Children’s Nursery. Children and Young People’s Support Workers work collaboratively as part of a whole refuge team under the direction and supervision of specialist workers and team leaders, to safeguard children, support positive parenting, and enable families to rebuild confidence, stability and independence, supporting successful transition into the community. It includes working with the whole family but with a key focus on the children and young people (0 to 18).
Workers will contribute to the support and wellbeing of resident women, children and young people to ensure their stay at the Refuge is a positive experience.

Key skills:
• Have an open and welcoming manner and good communication skills with both adults and children.
• A good understanding of child development and the ability to identify environmental risks and impact.
• A sound understanding of child protection, Early Help, Adults at Risk and a commitment to follow procedure.
