Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated paediatric dietitian to take a leading role within our Paediatric Diabetes Service, while also contributing specialist input to our wider general paediatric team. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people living with diabetes and committed to delivering high‑quality, family‑centred care.

As the senior dietitian within our Paediatric Diabetes MDT, you will provide expert nutritional management for children and young people with diabetes and complex nutritional needs. You will play a key role in structured education, insulin‑carbohydrate management, technology‑enabled care, and service development.

Alongside your diabetes caseload, you will contribute to the acute general paediatric dietetic service, supporting children with a range of nutritional and medical needs.

Deliver specialist dietetic care for children and young people with diabetes, including advanced carbohydrate counting, insulin adjustment within agreed protocols, and nutritional support for complex cases.

Lead and deliver structured education programmes for children and young people, their families and carers.

Work closely with the Paediatric Diabetes MDT, contributing to clinics, case reviews, and annual reviews.

Support transition pathways for young people moving to adult services.

Provide dietetic input to general paediatric patients, including acute nutritional assessment and management.

Lead on service improvement initiatives, audits, and quality‑improvement projects within the diabetes service.

Supervise and mentor junior dietitians, assistants, and student placements.

Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.

We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust.
