Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a Stairlift Surveyor to join our Local Authority team covering the M4 corridor (West London as far out as North Somerset). This is with specific local authorities in these areas so not every area in-between in-between, but you'll need to be comfortable driving good distances each day.


The purpose of the role is to maintain and grow sales through existing local authority contracts and to develop additional business with new partners. You will support in the Local Authority sector by providing a supportive, consultative and proactive service to our Local Authority partners.

You'll get an extensive induction period to bring you up to speed on products and how we work, so you don't need to have worked in the mobility or lift sector before.


Key responsibilities;

Undertake technical surveys and sales quotations within end users’ premises
Deliver a high standard of data collection, communication and accuracy when surveying and measuring locations and end users for lift equipment
Understand end user needs and provide best recommendation (based on Occupational Therapist guidance where appropriate).
Maintain an up-to-date technical knowledge base of the products we provide to end users, as well as available configurations that provide solutions to a variety of end user needs.
Communicate technical and product information to LAs and end users as well as quote and install information to the business.
Recommend primary work required for each installation
Represent Handicare when dealing with LA staff and end users during the survey process
Attend Performance Meetings with Local Authorities and colleagues, reporting on performance and adherence to KPIs/SLAs.
Ensure the company meets KPIs and service level agreements with regards to survey / quotation provision
Establish and maintain constructive relationships with key contacts and existing partners
Implement, as directed, sales strategies across the UK
Respond to Local Authority and end user requests professionally and in a timely manner
Provide quotations that are accurate and in line with contractual requirements and guidance
Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the schedule of work
Take part in project or development work as required
Gather and report local business intelligence that may impact the business
Establish new relationships to grow and develop the business
Requirements
Well organised with the ability to plan and deliver own workload
A proactive approach to customer management, ensuring that relationships are developed and maintained
Able to understand, generate and explain technical drawings
Ability to communicate effectively with end users, explaining sometimes complex technical issues
Take an empathetic approach to end users and their home environment, understanding their needs and challenges
A basic understanding of plumbing and electrical works to effectively complete surveys
Ability to take accurate measurements, with good attention to detail
Have a practical understanding of how a property is constructed and configured, with spatial awareness and ability to measure a staircase area to assess suitability for a stairlift
PC Literate with the ability to work access a variety of systems
Practical understanding of Building Regulations, H&S, Safeguarding and Vulnerable Customers
Previous experience working within the Local Authority sector would be an advantage

As this role is regionally based and requires daily travel, a driving license is essential. You'll get a company vehicle that you can also use for personal use.
