Summary


We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to provide administrative support within The Cove Children’s Inpatient Unit. This post is based at The Cove, Lancaster, and supports a specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health inpatient service.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual to join a busy inpatient children’s mental health service and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The team includes nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, working together to deliver high-quality inpatient care.


The post holder will be required to provide efficient and effective administrative support and must demonstrate excellent IT, keyboard, and data-inputting skills. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to use initiative, prioritise tasks, and manage a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.


The role is varied, interesting, and at times demanding. Candidates must be organised, flexible, and reliable, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including children and young people, carers, visitors, and healthcare professionals.


The post is 37.5 hours per week, permanent, working Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm.

• Receive, allocate, and despatch internal and external mail in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
• Act as the first point of contact for the unit, providing a professional, responsive, and confidential customer service to internal and external contacts.
• Provide a comprehensive administrative service, including minute-taking, preparation and collation of reports, and production of correspondence on behalf of the Unit Manager and members of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring work is completed to a high standard in line with Trust requirements.
• Create and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels, both internally and externally, across the wider health economy.
• Work collaboratively with clinical and management teams to ensure urgent matters are escalated to the appropriate leads and addressed in a timely manner.
• Attend and actively participate in team meetings and administrative services meetings as required.
• Support the day-to-day management of waiting lists and the booking and coordination of inpatient-related appointments, reviews, and meetings.
