Summary
Job OverviewWe are looking for a reliable and proactive Storeman to play a key role in supporting our maintenance operations. This is a varied, hands‑on position where you'll be at the heart of keeping the contract running smoothly—making sure the right materials, tools, and equipment are available when they're needed.
Working as part of Mitie's contract team, you'll manage stock effectively, ensure secure storage, and issue materials accurately to engineers and trades colleagues. You'll take pride in maintaining high standards of health, safety, and compliance, while contributing to a supportive, team‑focused working environment.
No two days are the same. From receiving deliveries and coordinating with procurement, to supporting audits and assisting skilled trades, this role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a visible impact across the contract. Flexibility, teamwork, and a positive approach are key to success in this role
Main Duties
-Managing stock levels and maintaining accurate records, including COSHH documentation
-Issuing materials and equipment to engineers and trades teams
-Preparing spares and stock requirement lists to support procurement
-Receiving and, where required, collecting goods from suppliers and ensuring secure storage
-Supporting audits, including tool audits with the client's security team
-Carrying out ladder inspections and power tool checks
-Assisting skilled trades as workload demands
-Escorting external contractors in line with site procedures
-Supporting work across other sites within the contract portfolio when required
-Taking part in out‑of‑hours work, on‑call duties, and shift rotas where necessary (with additional remuneration)
-Keeping records up to date, submitting timesheets on time, and completing required documentation
-Carrying out ID and compliance checks, including driving licence and DBS checks, when required
What we are looking for
-Someone confident working independently while also being a strong team player
-A flexible approach to working patterns and changing priorities
-Willingness to undertake training for working at height using MEWPs or similar equipment
-Basic IT skills and confidence in completing records and documentation
-Adaptability, reliability, and a practical, hands‑on attitude
