Summary
About the role
We have both full-time and flexible zero-hours opportunities for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team. You'll play a key role in keeping the hotel safe, functional, and well-presented, carrying out planned preventative maintenance tasks and responding to reactive repairs across the property. This is a great opportunity for someone with a practical skill set who wants to work in a busy hotel environment.
What you'll be doing
Carrying out day-to-day reactive maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house
Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) checks and logging work on our system
Responding promptly to maintenance requests raised by housekeeping, reception, and management
Carrying out basic plumbing, electrical, joinery, and decorating tasks
Identifying and reporting any issues that require specialist contractor involvement
Ensuring the property meets all health & safety and compliance requirements
Supporting the H&S Manager with inspections and remedial works
What we're looking for
A solid background in building maintenance, facilities, or a relevant trade
Practical skills across multiple areas — plumbing, electrics, painting, joinery (multi-skilled preferred)
Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
Good communication with department heads and management
Health & safety awareness
A full UK driving licence is desirable
