Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, together with Pensans School, are seeking to appoint a dynamic and committed Class Teacher for our Y1/Y2- KS1 class.

You’ll be an experienced teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with a wide range of need in this mainstream class. The demographic of our school caters for a high level of disadvantage and SEND. UPS will be offered if appropriate.

Experience within this Key Stage is essential with the importance of Y2 SATs and Y1 Phonics being a priority.

About You:

You will have excellent classroom management skills and be prepared to lead a subject area throughout the school e.g: P.E, I.T, Phonics. All subject areas will be considered. `

You will have responsibility for planning engaging topics and lessons which cover the KS1 curriculum, ensuring support staff are appropriately deployed so that all pupils are supported and can reach their full potential.

You will be an out of the box thinker who can plan creative activities which engage pupils while helping them to move forward within their learning. Inclusive practices are at the heart of all that we do here at Pensans School.

You will use a range of assessment formats including Insight and the National Curriculum to track pupils’ progress.

At Pensans you will be leading trips with the pupils and taking learning outside of the classroom where pupils can use the skills they have learned.

Pensans School is set in extensive grounds with a woodland area supporting Forest School activities.
