Do you enjoy supporting young people as they bring their ideas to life?At St Mark's, we are looking for a versatile and enthusiastic D&T and Art Technician to join our vibrant department. This is a unique role that sits at the heart of our creative subjects, covering everything from traditional workshop skills and CAD/CAM technology, to the fast-paced world of Hospitality and Catering.The RoleYou will provide essential technical and administrative support across several creative disciplines, including Product Design, Food Technology (Hospitality & Catering), Textiles, and Art. Your day-to-day will involve transforming workshops and classrooms into engaging learning spaces. From managing CAD/CAM equipment and laser cutters to sourcing high-quality ingredients for catering practicals, you will ensure our students have everything they need to succeed safely and creatively.What You’ll Be Doing:Creative Support: Demonstrating the safe use of machinery and assisting students with practical activities.Technical Management: Overseeing the maintenance of specialist equipment and managing stock records.Resource Coordination: Negotiating with suppliers to purchase materials and ingredients for Hospitality and Art.Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all COSHH and Health & Safety regulations are strictly followed to maintain a safe working environment.Showcasing Success: Helping prepare vibrant displays for Open Evenings and school events.Who We Are Looking For:We want a caring and inspiring individual who is:Technically Proficient: Confident using workshop tools, electrical equipment, and computer-operated machinery (CAD/CAM).Enthusiastic: Passionate about supporting young people in a highly inclusive environment.Organized: Able to manage budgets, stock, and multiple priorities across different departments.A Team Player: Ready to play an active and positive role within our close-knit staff team.Why Join St Mark’s?You will be joining a school that validates the hard work of its staff and is committed to professional development.
