About the role
The Governors at St Peter's C of E Primary School are looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic, and inspirational Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work alongside our vibrant staff team, supporting learning across the primary age range. You will be covering classes when there is Teacher or Teaching Assistant absence across the primary phase (R-Y6), providing support to pupils with SEND or delivering interventions.
You will also need to take some responsibility for planning and preparing resources where appropriate and in making effective records.
We are looking for someone who is hard-working, a consummate professional, and willing to be flexible within the challenges of working in a busy primary school.
You will work as a member of an established team and will contribute to the wider school community. You must have excellent interpersonal skills, be committed to making a difference in children’s lives, and have a passion for inclusive education.
High expectations of children’s potential and the ability to make effective relationships with children that enable learning to take place are essential.
St Peter’s Vision is for a 'World of Opportunities'. We wish for everyone to aim for excellence and fulfil their individual potential. We create opportunities throughout school which allow our children to grow, develop and thrive without limitation. Everyone at School is valued, cared for and taught how to take advantage of opportunities now and in the future.
‘The impact of the well-taught curriculum has been significant. Pupils produce a range of high-quality work. It shows their development of knowledge and skills through the curriculum. This includes those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff make adaptations to learning so that pupils with SEND learn the same curriculum as their peers.’ OFSTED June 2024.
About our School
Our school is set in fabulous and spacious grounds in South Bristol. We have three playgrounds and two areas that are specially set up for our Early Years Children. Children in the Foundation Stage and KS1 (Infants) are in one building and children in KS2 (Juniors) are in another building. We also have an ‘Eco Pod’ which is a fun, and exciting space for children to learn in – it even has a slide inside!

• positively promote inclusion and inspire them to achieve high standards and realise their potential;
• have consistently high expectations of attainment and behaviour;
