More detail about the role As a newly qualified physiologist you will begin with a 6 month preceptorship programme where you can experience all aspects of Cardiology. Regular meetings with your mentor will help guide you to where you want to be. We offer a comprehensive range of non invasive and invasive investigations including ambulatory monitoring and physiologist led exercise tolerance tests. Our two cardiac catheterisation labs perform cardiac angiography and angioplasty, with a 24 hour Primary PCI service. The echocardiography service includes TOE, contrast, bubble and stress studies. In our third lab we implant pacemaker, ICD and CRT devices and offer an electrophysiology service which includes complex cases with the use of 3D mapping, Cryo and PFA technology. If newly qualified you will be paid as Band 5 until such time as competencies have been passed allowing you to work independently and join the Primary PCI service. At that time you will proceed to Band 6. The successful applicant will be working in both non invasive and invasive cardiology. As a Band 6 you will be expected to have an excellent knowledge of clinical cardiology with a proven record of working to a high standard. The successful candidate will have completed a BSc (Hons) in clinical physiology or equivalent. They will have RCCP or AHCS registration and hold an ILS or ALS certificate. The successful candidate will be expected, with training, to work towards attainment of specialist accreditation. As a band 5 you will need to have Cardiac Physiology degree when you start. During the expected 12 months you will undergo preceptorship and gain experience you will then apply to Academy of Healthcare Science for membership and have that as well as being able to take part in the 24/7 primary PCI rota. Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00 initially.
