We are currently recruiting for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative for our client based in Bournemouth and surrounding areas.

Job Role:

The Grounds Maintenance Operative is responsible for maintaining outdoor spaces within housing environments and public open spaces. This role ensures that all landscaped areas are kept clean, safe, and visually appealing through a range of routine maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities of Grounds Maintenance Operative:

•Carry out general ground’s maintenance duties across housing estates and open spaces
•Perform litter picking to maintain cleanliness and environmental standards
•Undertake leaf clearance, particularly during seasonal periods
•Cut and maintain hedges, shrubs, and borders to required standards
•Carry out grass cutting using pedestrian and ride-on mowers
•Use strimmer’s and other hand-held equipment to maintain grass edges and hard-to-reach areas
•Operate ride-on mowers safely and efficiently
•Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations
•Conduct basic daily checks and maintenance of tools and machinery
•Report any hazards, damage, or maintenance issues to supervisors
•Work as part of a team to deliver high-quality grounds maintenance services

Working hours of Grounds Maintenance Operative: 37 hours per week, Mon - Fri

Requirements of Grounds Maintenance Operative:

•Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor role
•Ability to operate equipment such as mowers, strimmer’s, and hedge cutters
•Good understanding of health and safety practices
•Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•Good time management and reliability
