We're looking for motivated, supportive, and student‑focused English & Maths Coaches to join Buckinghamshire College Group on a Variable Hours basis at our Amersham and Aylesbury campuses.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with learners, build their confidence and help them overcome barriers to achievement in Maths and English - while developing your own career within a supportive Further Education environment.
As an English and Maths Coach, you will play a key role in supporting students by linking their English and Maths learning with their vocational studies. We're looking for individuals who can make a positive difference to students who find these subjects challenging and who are passionate about supporting 16-18 and 19+ learners to succeed.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Lead groups of students in project-based learning sessions, designed to bridge the gap between their English and Maths GCSE lessons and their vocational learning.
- Conduct targeted sessions for identified students to enhance progress in English and Mathematics
- Offer cover support when necessary.
- Engage in Level 3 teacher training with the potential to transition to a teaching role.
- Assist in tracking student attendance and addressing root causes.
- Contribute to open days as needed.
- Set specific targets for English and Mathematics with individual students.
- Establish connections between English and Mathematics and other curriculum areas.
