Summary

Shared EPR Business Analyst - 18 Month Fixed Term / Secondment

As part of the BSW Shared Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme, this role provides a specialist information and configuration service to support the implementation, optimisation and ongoing management of the EPR across Great Western Hospital (GWH), Royal United Hospitals Bath (RUH) and Salisbury Foundation Trust (SFT).

The postholder will ensure systems such as Oracle Health / Cerner Millennium and related clinical applications are configured safely, accurately and in line with clinical workflows. Working closely with clinical, operational and digital teams, the role helps shape future processes and supports the delivery of high‑quality, efficient care through digital technology.

The postholder will manage their own workload to design, configure and maintain EPR workflows, ensuring system build aligns with organisational policies and service needs. They will analyse current and future clinical and operational processes, working with staff to agree system configuration and support the transition to new digital workflows.

Acting as a key link between clinical teams and the shared EPR system, they will identify opportunities for improvement, translate requirements into system changes and ensure safe, effective configuration. The role includes interrogating databases, producing analysis to support decision‑making and contributing to the wider optimisation of the EPR across all BSW organisations.

We are proud to be part of BSW Hospitals Group – a formal partnership between Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. With a combined workforce of over 17, 600 colleagues, and budget of 1.6 billion the Group is united by a common purpose to deliver the best possible care to over 1 million people.

We are creating a health and care system that works with the people we care for, reducing the differences people currently face in access, experience and outcomes, improving the experience of our colleagues and tackling shared challenges like sustainability and finances. Every improvement we make across our Group will be guided by what creates the greatest benefit for our colleagues, our patients, our communities and our partners.

As part of the shared BSW shared Electronic Patient Record (EPR) the postholder will provide a customer-focused, high quality specialist information service including database interrogation and statistical analysis supporting the implementation, configuration, optimisation, and ongoing management of the EPR across the BSW organisations – Great Western Hospital, Swindon (GWH), Royal United Bath Hospital (RUH) and Salisbury Foundation Trust (SFT). This includes ensuring that digital systems such as Oracle Health / Cerner Millennium and related clinical systems are configured correctly, safe, and aligned with clinical workflows.
