Purpose‑built building for children aged 9 months to 11 years

Fully staffed with a long‑standing, permanent team — no agency cover used
On‑site cook providing daily meals

Located just a 2‑minute walk from Scotswood Road with direct bus routes into Newcastle City Centre
Working Hours
Nursery operates 51 weeks per year, Monday–Friday, 7:30–18:00
Option of:
Four‑day week (40 hours) with a fixed day off to suit nursery needs
Five‑day week (40 hours)
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management
Lead, motivate, and support a team of educators
Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional working environment
Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to staff
Curriculum & Learning
Oversee the planning and delivery of an engaging, child‑centred curriculum
Ensure activities meet the needs, interests, and developmental stages of all children
Champion creativity, curiosity, and high‑quality early years practice
Child Welfare & Safeguarding
Maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing environment
Ensure full compliance with safeguarding procedures and statutory requirements
Respond appropriately to concerns and ensure staff are confident in safeguarding practice
Parent & Community Partnerships
Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carer's
Promote open communication and involve families in their child’s learning journey
Administration & Compliance
Oversee daily administrative tasks, including attendance and staffing records
Maintain accurate documentation in line with regulatory and Ofsted requirements
Support the Deputy Manager and wider team in operational duties
Requirements
Level 3 or above in Early Years Education (or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership role within an early years setting
Strong knowledge of the EYFS and statutory frameworks
Confident, supportive leadership style
Excellent communication, organisational, and customer‑service skills
Ability to bring fresh ideas and drive continuous improvement
Commitment to professional development and best practice
Previous nursery management experience essential
Enhanced DBS required (being on the Update Service is an advantage)
