Teaching Personnel is proud to be working with a primary school in the Cardiff Bay area to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant with a strong interest in Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in a diverse school setting, supporting pupils from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
This position combines classroom support with targeted ALN intervention. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEN staff to support pupils who require additional help to access learning, while also contributing to the wider classroom environment.
In this role, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ALN
- Help implement personalised learning strategies
- Support emotional wellbeing and behaviour management
- Assist with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
- Encourage independence and confidence in pupils
- Build strong, positive relationships with learners
- Exposure to a wide range of learning needs and teaching strategies
- Opportunity to develop specialist ALN experience
- Supportive leadership and structured SEN provision
- Clear pathways into teaching, SEN specialism, or pastoral roles
- A proactive and resilient individual
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Interest in ALN, SEN, or child development
- Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
Experience in education, care, or support roles is advantageous but not essential.
