About the role
Are you a fully qualified and dynamic finance professional, ready to take the lead on financial excellence and strategic impact?
We are seeking a driven and experienced Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategy, ensuring robust governance, and supporting operational delivery across the force.
This is a high-profile and challenging opportunity for an individual who can combine technical expertise with commercial insight and strong stakeholder engagement.
What you will be doing
Lead on financial reporting and delivering annual audit
Manage compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Drive introduction of new ideas and delivering continuous improvement across the department
Lead, manage and motivate a well-established and motivated team
Provide financial advice to support decision makers at all levels
Deputise for the Chief Financial Officer
Engage with the Home Office and other key internal and external stake holders
Working with other forces as part of a regional collaboration, sharing new ideas, emerging technologies and best practise ideas and principals.
About you and your experience
Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA/ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or equivalent
Proven experience in a similar role
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams
Confidence to challenge, influence and support senior stakeholders
