Summary


As Senior Service Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership within planned care specialities, working closely with Clinical Leads, Divisional leadership, and corporate teams to deliver safe, efficient and high‑performing services.

You will have a key leadership role in:
• Lead services that will form our redevelopment of Hillingdon Hospital as part of the New Hospital Programme (NHP
• Driving elective recovery and RTT performance, including PTL management
• Embedding GIRFT, Further Faster and outpatient transformation principles
• Leading large multidisciplinary teams through change with clarity and compassion with our Acute Partnership Group.

This role is central to ensuring services are clinically led, financially sustainable, and operationally resilient.



About You

You will be a confident and credible NHS leader with:
• Significant experience at Senior Service Manager / Operational Manager level within Planned Care or acute services
• A strong track record of delivering elective recovery, RTT improvement and service transformation
• Experience working in close partnership with clinicians and influencing at senior level
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and develop teams through change
• Strong analytical, financial and governance capability

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide senior operational leadership across specialities within Planned Care services
• Lead service delivery from strategy to day‑to‑day operations, ensuring performance against RTT, quality, finance and workforce metrics
• Work in partnership with Clinical Leads to redesign pathways, improve productivity and optimise clinical templates
• Lead and support teams through service transformation, including new models of care and digital change
• Oversee PTL governance, escalation, and performance reporting
• Manage service budgets, workforce planning, and risk registers
• Ensure strong governance, patient safety, and regulatory complianc
