Senior Support Worker - Manchester


Are you passionate about making a real difference in people's lives? Brook Street Social Care is proud to work with an organisation who provide support to vulnerable adults with learning disability, mental health issues supporting to help support and promote independent living skills.

We seek a skilled Senior Support Worker to join their Manchester teams, working to support and mentor your staff teams supporting the Manager and Team Leader to provide a safe and outcome focused service.

What you'll be doing:
* Deliver high-quality support to individuals with forensic mental health background, learning disabilities.
* Support and mentor your team of Support Workers across 2-3 services in Manchester, ensuring the smooth running of the services and completing supervisions with your teams.
* Maintain accurate records in line with organisational policies and legal requirements.
* Work closely with colleagues, and other professionals and agencies attending meetings where required.
* Be flexible to work on a rolling rota which will include alternate weekends and include early, late and some sleep in shifts. You will be allocated 14 hours per week in the office to complete relevant supervisions and paperwork and 23 hours on shift. Support people being supported at service and out in the community.
* Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision to continually develop your skills.


What you'll bring:
* Experience of working to support those with a mental health issue, learning disability and forensic background. Knowledge of working in the criminal justice system or similar settings.
* Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with those with complex mental health and learning disability.
* Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety regulations.
* Ability to maintain accurate documentation.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support others within this setting. You will be self driven and with a positive and 'can do' attitude.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins ( 1 or 2 per week). Plus 1 in 6 week on call support ( paid extra)
