Summary

Care Support Worker – Help People Live Their Best Lives Every Day

Do you love making a difference? Are you the kind of person who brings warmth, energy and compassion wherever you go? As a Care Support Worker at Peabody, you’ll play a meaningful role in supporting people to live independently, confidently and with dignity.

In this role, you’ll help individuals with everyday routines, personal care and health needs, while encouraging choice, independence and self‑expression. You may support people to pursue hobbies, enjoy activities in the community, or simply be there as a calm, reassuring presence. Every day is different, and the impact you make is real and rewarding.

You’ll build positive relationships with residents, families, friends and professionals, helping to create safe, welcoming homes where people feel comfortable and supported. You’ll also contribute to maintaining a clean and safe living environment, keeping accurate records, taking part in reviews and team meetings, and promoting health, safety and high‑quality care at all times.

We’re looking for someone with a kind and compassionate approach, a good sense of humour and the resilience to support people through both everyday moments and more challenging times. You’ll need to communicate well, work positively as part of a team, respect diversity and individual needs, and be comfortable managing records and meeting deadlines. A willingness to work flexibly is essential, including evenings, weekends and unsociable hours.

Previous experience in care or support, whether paid or voluntary, is welcome but not essential, as full training and support will be provided. A Care Certificate or NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care would be an advantage but is not required.

Before applying, please be aware that this role is subject to an enhanced DBS check. The service operates on a 24/7 basis, including overnight shifts, weekends and bank holidays, so flexibility is essential to ensure people receive the support they need. Due to limited public transport links, you’ll need reliable transport to travel safely to and from shifts, which may include your own vehicle or supported travel options. A full, clean manual UK driving licence is essential for this role.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you and you’d like to be part of Peabody, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply by submitting an anonymised CV and a short statement explaining why you’re a good fit for the role. Interviews will be held on an ongoing basis and no later than the week commencing 1 June 2026.
