Electrician – HMP Kirkham (Preston)
£30,866 – £36,135 + 15% weekend allowance

A great opportunity for a qualified electrician looking for stable, long‑term work on one site. HMP Kirkham is a Category D open prison, offering a calmer, more predictable working environment and well‑planned maintenance work.


The role
Planned and preventative electrical maintenance
Fault finding and repairs
Minor works, inspections and testing to BS7671
Ensuring electrical systems are safe and compliant
What you need
Level 2 Electrical qualification
18th Edition (17th considered with upskilling)
Good knowledge of electrical maintenance and H&S
Ability to work independently

Hours
39 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00; Friday to Sunday 08:00 - 16:00
1 in 3 weekends (paid at +15%)

Prison security clearance and Standard DBS required – fully supported by Amey.
