Summary

Veterinary Surgeon – New Practice South West London

This isn’t your typical vet role. It’s a chance to be part of building a brand-new practice from day one.

Our client is launching a purpose-built veterinary surgery in South West London and is looking for two experienced Vets (3+ years) to join the team alongside the Head Vet.

Why consider it?
Rather than stepping into an established setup, you’ll help shape how the practice runs, how the team works, and the standard of care delivered.

The surgery itself is modern and spacious, with 8 consult rooms, 3 theatres, separate dental and imaging suites, plus well-designed prep and ward areas—all created to support a smooth workflow and a calm environment.

You’ll have the backing of a large, independent veterinary group, so there’s support when you need it, but still plenty of scope to make your mark.

The role
This is a hands-on GP position with a good mix of consults and surgery. You’ll also play a key part in setting the tone within the team.

Day to day, you’ll:

See a varied caseload from consult through to treatment
Carry out routine and more advanced procedures
Support preventative care and client education
Build strong relationships with clients
Help mentor and support the nursing team

They’re open to Vets with particular interests and happy to support development in those areas.

Working pattern

4 days per week (9-hour shifts)
1 in 4 weekends
39 hours on average
Admin time built into your day

What’s on offer
A well-rounded package focused on both career and work-life balance:

CPD allowance, paid memberships, and progression opportunities
Quarterly bonus/recognition scheme
25 days holiday + bank holidays, plus enhanced family leave
Wellbeing support and income protection
Electric car scheme
Staff discounts, free treatment for your own pets, and other lifestyle perks
Free parking and uniform

About you
You’ll likely enjoy this role if you:

Have solid GP experience and are confident clinically
Like working as part of a team and supporting others
Communicate well with clients and colleagues
Want to be involved in building something new

If you’re looking for something a bit different from the usual “plug into an existing practice” role, this could be worth exploring.
