Summary
A Vacancy at Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust.
This consultant combines general ophthalmology expertise with advanced subspecialty skills in:
• Paediatric ophthalmology(eye conditions in infants and children)
• Strabismus(misalignment of the eyes, e.g., squint)
They lead patient care, supervise junior doctors, and contribute to service development within Kingston Hospitals.
1. Paediatric Eye care
• Diagnosing congenital and developmental eye conditions (e.g., cataracts, glaucoma, amblyopia/lazy eye)
• Monitoring visual development and prescribing treatments like glasses or patching
• Managing complex neurodevelopmental or genetic eye disorders
2. Strabismus Management
• Assessing eye alignment and binocular vision
• Non-surgical treatment (glasses, prisms, occlusion therapy)
• Performing strabismus surgery to correct muscle imbalance
