Summary

- Lead the five daily prayers.
- Lead the Friday (Jumu’ah) prayer, including delivery of the sermon (khutbah).
- Lead Eid prayers, and officiate Muslim funeral (Janazah) and marriage (Nikah) ceremonies.
- Assist with the religious education of both children and adults.
- Play an active role in the daily operation of the masjid, supporting its religious and community functions.
- Deliver regular Islamic reminders to the congregation and wider community.

Salary
• A package of £23000 Full time (32hrs)

Educational Requirements

• Degree in Islamic Studies ( desirable)
• Must be fluent in English
• Must have relevant Islamic Studies / Teaching qualification
• Must hold relevant qualification for Quran / Tajweed
• A Haifz of Quran would be preferred.

The Regulations permits an Exception for the purpose of an organised religion where the religion’s doctrine dictates or where required by strongly held religious convictions of a significant number of the religion’s followers. That exception can be found in Schedule 3, Equality Act 2010, Part 7, Paragraph 29 (1), (2), (3) and (4). To that extent, this post is open to male Adults only in accordance with the Governing Laws of England and Wales.”
