Summary

We strive to create and maintain a safe, caring and stimulating environment, where all children, families and staff feel valued and work as one team.

Children actively learn through adult-led activities and child-initiated play, developing their skills, curiosity, independence and most importantly their personality!

Our settings are looking for caring, motivated, team players, with great communication skills to join our company. Being a practitioner is hard work and requires the ability to put on a smile no matter what; sing and dance, play and have fun, every single day. The room leader must have these skills but also the skills to inspire others, coach and lead staff, so that everyone is their best selves in front of the children. This job is busy; every minute of every day is a learning opportunity, and we expect the successful candidate to utilise every second in a variety of ways which captures the interest of each and every child. Identifying barriers to learning, gaps in understanding and providing what it takes for every child to succeed.

Within the rooms where a room leader is required, there are children with SEND needs, children with EAL and apprentices. The knowledge, ability and passion to work in a variety of ways with a variety of people is required.

Our setting wants people who care, people who want to make a difference and have the passion and commitment to make everyday a good day.

If you think you have what it takes, we welcome your application.

The successful candidates must have references, one from the previous employer and also a clear enhanced DBS certificate.

Main duties:

To deliver the settings curriculum in line with children’s age and stage of development.

To work closely with children aged 0-5 years old, looking after their daily needs such as feeding, hygiene, regulation, toileting and learning.

To work as part of a team to deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Birth to Five Matters.

To plan, provide and support age-appropriate play opportunities and adult-led activities. In line with the curriculum and individual needs of the children in your care.

To ensure the safety and welfare of all children in your care.

To be an effective key person to an allocated number of children and their families.

To observe, assess and record children’s learning and development progress.

Provide an enabling environment that meets the needs of each unique individual.

To build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers, staff and children.

To adhere to and follow the setting’s policies and procedures.

To ensure confidentiality and respect for all is always adhered to.

To ensure standards of health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained.

To attend additional training days and complete mandatory CPD in line with the settings policy.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of duties. The early years educator will be required to undertake any other reasonable duties outlined in the staff handbook.
