Perfect Placement Automotive Recruitment is working closely with our client to find a skilled HGV Technician who is eager to develop their career within a well-established workshop environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional seeking a role that offers ongoing manufacturer training, competitive pay, and excellent benefits.
Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate up to £20.88, plus late shift allowance (15%) and overtime pay
- Working hours on a rotating shift pattern: Week 1 = 6:00am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday; Week 2 = 2:00pm – 12:00am, Monday to Thursday; Friday = 2:30pm – 10pm
- Payment for 2 Saturdays per month on a rota (at 1.5x rate)

- Opportunity to develop into Heavy Vehicles from Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV)
Duties of a HGV Technician:
- Conduct high-quality mechanical and electrical repairs on HGV vehicles
- Perform vehicle servicing and maintenance to manufacturer standards
- Undertake diagnostics and fault finding efficiently
- Modify customer vehicles where required
- Adhere to health and safety procedures within the workshop
- Handle customer enquiries professionally and provide excellent service as a HGV Technician
- Complete job cards and service documentation accurately and promptly
Requirements of a HGV Technician:
- C&G / NVQ Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance essential (Heavy Vehicle experience preferred, Light Commercial Vehicle considered)
- IRTEC qualification beneficial but not essential
- Ideally possess a Class 1 driving licence (desired)
- Proven experience working within a commercial vehicle workshop, with a preference for HGV experience
- Practical knowledge of IT and workshop diagnostics tools
- Safety-conscious attitude and diligent approach
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment
