Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for Street Scene Operative Drivers to join the Recycling and Neighbourhood Services team in Cardiff. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces through street cleansing and environmental maintenance.

Key Duties
  • Carry out street cleansing duties including litter picking, sweeping, bin emptying, and removal of dumped waste.
  • Drive and operate service vehicles, including completing daily vehicle checks.
  • Remove fly-tipped and hazardous waste safely and efficiently.
  • Operate equipment such as strimmers, blowers, and other power tools.
  • Use handheld technology to receive tasks and record completed work.
  • Support winter gritting and other seasonal activities.
  • Deliver a positive and professional frontline service to the public.
Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Reliable, proactive, and safety-conscious approach.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.
  • Previous experience in cleansing, grounds maintenance, or similar roles is preferred.
