About the Role
Are you passionate about working within Adult Social Care and making a difference to the lives of others? Could this be the next step in your Social Work career?
We are looking for a skilled Social Worker to join the Adult Mental Health North Team. Mental Health Social Care Teams are specialist teams that commission and review a wide variety of packages of care for citizens who are in contact with secondary mental health services, with the aim of promoting independence and wellbeing.

Social Worker Level 1 – Newly qualified, eligible to commence the ASYE programme

What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out strengths‑based assessments, reviews and care planning under the Care Act 2014.
- Leading and contributing to Section 42 safeguarding enquiries.
- Mental Health Tribunal Hearings and writing Social Circumstance Reports
- Working closely with AMHPs, health partners, housing and community providers.
- Supporting individuals with complex presentations, including psychosis, personality disorder, trauma and substance misuse
- Managing a varied caseload, including hospital discharges, residential placements, community support packages and crisis‑driven work.
- Attending multi‑agency meetings such as MAPPA, MDTs and risk panels.

About You
- Qualified Social Worker (SWE registered).
- Previous mental health experience — experience of working with citizens who are open to secondary mental health services is desirable.
- Strong understanding of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks. Understanding of the Mental health Act is desirable.
- Confidence in managing risk and working autonomously
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of professionals.
- A reflective practitioner who values supervision, learning and continuous development.
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
