Summary
Nursery Practitioner / Early Years Educator- Level 3 and above
Full-time or Part-time | Oaklea House Day Nursery, Hook, Hampshire
Oaklea House Day Nursery is part of a family owned group of day nurseries located in the Hampshire area and is located within walking distance of Hook village and the station. Proudly a part of the Hook community since 2015 and we are exceptionally proud of the early years foundations that we have provided for so many wonderful families over the years.
We’re proud of:
Being Family-run, allowing us to maintain a personal touch and get to know you. Many staff members comment on how refreshing it is to feel like a family and not be working for a corporate chain.
Excellent parent feedback and 'Good' Ofsted rating.
4 large, light and open Suites to ensure dedicated and age appropriate care and activities.
Excellent record of internal promotion — many practitioners now hold senior management roles or have progressed through higher training.
A passionate team that go above and beyond to create brilliantly engaging and inviting activities for our children.
The Role:
We are looking for kind, caring and motivated Nursery Practitioners, Early Years Educator or Nursery Teachers. All qualification levels are welcome so long as they are deemed 'full and relevant' by the Department of Education: Level 2–6 or QTS (Level 6/QTS roles attract enhanced salaries).
Looking for a step above Practitioner? For a well-established Nursery Practitioner looking to kickstart their progression into leadership, we are also looking for a Deputy Suite Leader of our Baby Suite.
You will:
Ideally work 41 per week over 4.5 days (flexible arrangements such as 3 days per week considered so long as this fit session patterns).
Work closely within your dedicated Suite as a passionate, knowledgeable and fun Key Person. Delivering strong bonds with your key children and their families.
Contribute to a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment for children. This includes supporting care routines, assisting with transitions, developing ambitious next steps that place the child in the centre. Celebrating those ‘wow’ moments, and providing comfort during more challenging days.
Love dressing up for our many themed days, are always on pinterest for days of observance activities, know the words to ‘hop little bunny’ as if your life depended on it and are unphased by finding dried playdough on your uniform!
Please note: we do not offer term-time only or 9–3pm roles.
What We Offer
A happy place to work is one thing, but our benefits package helps to add a little extra sparkle:
Discounted childcare spaces (subject to availability)
24/7 access to private GP appointments and prescriptions (extendable to family)
Extensive employee discounts: supermarkets, gyms, restaurants, shopping, holidays & more
Confidential counselling and structured wellbeing support
Competitive salary + ongoing attendance bonuses.
Paid day off for your birthday
Holiday booking up to 18 months in advance
Employee of the Month cash bonuses
Mental Health First Aid trained management team
End-of-year awards and Christmas/ Summer celebration
Funded professional development and unlimited CPD opportunities
Clear internal progression routes across our nursery group
Free uniform and DBS paid by us
Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, this is an exciting opportunity to join a tight-knit, supportive team within an expanding business with real career growth potential.
