Summary


Are you aan established Acute Medical Consultant looking for new challenge or a trained SPR looking for your first locum consultant post?

With a passion for patient care and safety, you will be able to demonstrate an understanding and awareness of clinical governance, with a desire to continually improve the patient experience.

As part of the agreed job plan, you will be working with a team which would be a total of 8 consultants after this appointment. On-site consultant cover is from 8am-5pm weekdays and 8am- 2pm weekends. The Acute Medical Consultant also contributes to General Medicine on call rota of approximately 1 in 40 over weekdays and weekends

You will have full GMC registration or evidence of eligibility for full GMC registration, with appropriate/fellowship training in Emergency Medicine.

As part of the agreed job plan, you will be working with a team which would be a total of 9/10 consultants after this appointment.

On-site consultant cover is from 8am-5pm weekdays and 8am- 2pm weekends (as per rota). The acute medical consultant also contributes to General Medicine on-call rota of approximately 1 in 30 over weekdays and weekends

Weekly Timetable:

The changing nature of the contracting process makes it essential that all consultants have a flexible approach to working arrangements which may include innovative working patterns, including 7 day working in the future. The job plan will be reviewed at a 3, 6 and 12 monthly interval following initial appointment.

The job plan (for a full-time) will consist of the following (provisional timetable below):

· Direct Clinical Care: 7.5 PAs on average per week

(Includes clinical activity, clinical related administrative activity, predictable and unpredictable work)

· Supporting Professional Activities: 1.5 PAs on average per week

(Includes CPD, audit, teaching and research)

· Participation in the medical on call rotas equates to approximately 1PA.
