About the role
The MIS Department is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Lead Invigilator to join the FE Exams team. This is a fast‑paced and varied role, involving work across multiple exam boards and liaison with staff across all curriculum areas.
The role includes responsibility for managing a bank of invigilators and coordinating their invigilation duties. The successful applicant will have a keen eye for detail, be able to work effectively under pressure, and ensure the integrity of all examinations is maintained at all times.
Other duties will include:
Ensuring that all JCQ and Exam Board rules and regulations are disseminated, understood, and upheld
Responding to routine enquiries from staff, students, and the exams team, in line with the Data Protection Policy
Maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge and understanding of JCQ and Exam Board rules and regulations
Ensuring all examinations are invigilated to the highest possible standard
Delivering training and support to all invigilators
About the person
Knowledge of JCQ and exam board rules and regulations would be advantageous, and experience of working in a busy office environment is essential.
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience as an Invigilator
GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 4–9
Level 2 Business Administration qualification or equivalent experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
The ability to work calmly, methodically, and effectively in a pressured environment
This role may involve travel to off‑site campuses; therefore, access to a personal vehicle and appropriate business insurance is desirable
