Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing and inclusive school community in South Liverpool.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils with a range of needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs/EHCPs)
- Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs
- Support pupils' emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where appropriate
- Assist with personal care where required (training provided if needed)
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children with SEN (school, care, or support setting)
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Relevant qualifications ( Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS (child and adult workforce), satisfactory references, and full compliance with KCSIE (2024) guidance and safer recruitment standards. Overseas police checks may be required where applicable.
