TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic SEND school in Bristol that supports pupils aged 4–19 with a wide range of additional needs. The school provides a creative and inclusive environment, with small class sizes and a strong focus on personalised learning, emotional development and building independence.
The school is looking to appoint a SEND Learning Support Assistant on a short-term basis, with the potential to become long term for the right SEND Learning Support Assistant. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will work closely with pupils with ASD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD and communication needs, supporting both 1:1 and in small groups to create a safe and engaging learning environment.
The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have:
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND or additional needs
• A patient, calm and empathetic approach
• Confidence supporting pupils with complex needs and behaviours
• Willingness to support with personal care and moving and handling
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
