As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, manages large transport infrastructure projects and is responsible for delivery of a long-term multi-modal transport strategy for the West of Scotland.About the RoleWe are seeking to recruit a Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising a facilities maintenance team that focuses on service delivery whilst ensuring safe, timeous and satisfactory completion of planned and reactive maintenance activities across the SPT estate.You will also work with external and internal stakeholders including Engineering & Maintenance, Projects, Subway and Bus Operations on service delivery and modernisation projects, ensuring compliance and safe maintenance procedures are always adhered to whilst continually looking to improve processes and adopt good working practices.About YouThe successful candidate will be a highly motivated, capable, reliable and resilient individual with supervisory management skills and experienced in planning and delivering maintenance activities in a safety critical environment leading the facilities maintenance team. You will be a time served craft person in a recognised engineering discipline, with experience in supervising a team. You will have the ability to work collaboratively with internal clients and other corporate services. Your good planning and problem-solving skills will be needed as you work with others to plan and complete maintenance activity as well as to react to changing priorities in an operational environment.Having sound influencing and communication skills are important when working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proactive and planned maintenance of the SPT estate.Further details of the role and key responsibilities are set out in the job description.
