We are an education recruitment agency working with a specialist SEN setting and are seeking compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people aged 5–19 with complex learning needs.
This is a non-mainstream role, supporting students with severe social communication difficulties, complex learning disabilities and challenging behaviours, helping them develop life skills, independence and confidence.
The Role:
Supporting small classes (8–13 students), grouped by ability and need
Assisting with literacy, numeracy, PSHE and daily living skills
Using communication methods such as Makaton, symbols and sensory approaches
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Working as part of a highly supportive, well-trained team
Some personal care duties (full training provided)
What We’re Looking For:
Empathy, patience and resilience
Good communication and teamwork skills
Literacy and numeracy
Calm, confident approach to challenging behaviour
Willingness to provide personal care where required
Hours:
36 hours per week, term-time
Part-time (3+ days) considered
