Summary
Description
At System C, we build technology that connects and transforms health and care outcomes. Our software supports public services across the UK, helping organisations deliver better care to communities that need it most.
We are looking for a Development Team Lead to lead a finance-focused engineering team working on Controcc, a core product supporting our market-leading case management systems for Local Government. This is a senior, hands-on role where technical leadership, people leadership, and delivery ownership come together.
What you will be doing
- Leading a development squad, combining hands-on engineering with people management.
- Owning day-to-day delivery, setting clear priorities and ensuring work moves smoothly from readiness through to release.
- Providing technical guidance through coding, design decisions, and code reviews.
- Supporting the growth, performance, and wellbeing of engineers in your team.
- Ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with System C standards, including safe and effective use of AI-assisted tooling.
- Collaborating closely with product, QA, architecture, and operations to balance scope, quality, and timelines.
- Overseeing CI/CD pipelines and contributing to continuous improvement of build and release processes.
- Leading incident response and root cause analysis for services owned by the team.
- Supporting hiring, onboarding, and integration of new team members.
What we are looking for
- Strong technical grounding in .NET (Framework and Core), C #, and MS SQL Server. Experience using React and Azure would be desirable.
- Experience operating as a senior developer or equivalent, with clear examples of technical leadership.
- Confidence leading delivery and coordinating across disciplines.
- Strong communication skills, able to explain priorities, risks, and decisions clearly.
- A coaching mindset, with experience giving feedback and supporting others through change.
- Comfort working in evolving, fast-paced environments where ambiguity is part of the role.
Why join System C
You will be part of a supportive, mission-driven organisation that values ownership, collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement. We offer flexible benefits and invest in personal and professional development, helping you grow while making a meaningful impact.
