About the Direct Payment Holder
The client is a 71-year-old male living at home who has significant mobility difficulties. He is currently awaiting both knee and hip replacement surgery and is unable to walk more than 10 metres. He uses a walking stick and is not a wheelchair user. He also has COPD, which can affect his breathing and stamina.
The purpose of this support is to provide short periods of assistance at home, allowing his main household support to complete essential shopping such as food and hygiene items without having to rush, ensuring these tasks can be done properly and without added pressure.

Hours and rate of pay Hours: 2 hours per week
Days: One day per week, preferably Fridays

DBS/Checks Confirmation of DBS check
Right to Work and references will be needed.
Training Training will be offered to enable to complete the mandatory training required:
• Safeguarding Adults
• Introduction to first aid
• Health and Safety

What you would be doing…
The Personal Assistant (PA) will provide light personal support within the home. Tasks will include:
• Assisting with reaching items up high or down low
• Helping with putting shoes on
• Supporting with simple household tasks such as reaching cupboards to retrieve items (e.g. glasses)

There is no requirement to take the client out into the community, and no hoisting or heavy personal care tasks are involved.


Required skills and experience • Experience supporting individuals with mobility issues
• Awareness of and sensitivity to breathing difficulties such as COPD
• Physically able to provide light assistance safely
• Calm, patient, and respectful approach
• Male PA required

This role would suit someone who is reliable, considerate, and able to offer practical, low-level support to help maintain comfort and independence at home.
