Summary

The Role

Reporting directly to the Contracts Manager, you will take full responsibility for the management, organisation, and successful delivery of this complex construction project. You will play a key role in ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Requirements

  • Strong contractual awareness with proven experience delivering NEC4 contracts, including effective change management
  • Hands-on experience with formwork and temporary works
  • Demonstrated leadership and site management capability
  • Ability to manage programmes, mitigate delays, and respond to change
  • Experience in tidal or marine construction (preferred)

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Change Management

  • Monitor labour and plant usage against budget
  • Identify and communicate variations to the Quantity Surveyor
  • Ensure all change processes and documentation are properly managed

Programme & Planning

  • Review and align with the principal contractor's programme
  • Allocate resources effectively
  • Produce weekly progress reports and fortnightly look-ahead programmes

Client Interface

  • Act as the main on-site contact for the client
  • Attend coordination meetings and present progress updates
  • Record and distribute accurate meeting minutes

Team Leadership

  • Appoint and manage site teams, including supervisors
  • Ensure clear roles, responsibilities, and alignment with project delivery

Health & Safety

  • Lead all HSE activities including inductions, RAMS briefings, and toolbox talks
  • Enforce safe systems of work and compliance with site procedures

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure works are carried out in line with approved RAMS
  • Verify operatives are equipped with appropriate tools and PPE

Inspections & Reporting

  • Complete statutory inspections and maintain accurate records in line with QHSE requirements

Temporary Works Coordination

  • Prepare Temporary Works Design Briefs
  • Liaise with designers and review drawings
  • Oversee installation to ensure compliance

Continuous Improvement

  • Report incidents, near misses, and non-conformances
  • Support investigations and implement corrective actions
